Marsh Benham
The Red House at Marsh Benham, near Newbury in Berkshire is a real gem. It’s a local pub with a restaurant and private dining room overlooking beautiful countryside.
The Red House serves Great British food, local Cask Marque ales and a great range of wines that you won’t find in the supermarkets. You can pop in for a pint, a 3 course meal or something in between.
The menu is British, seasonal and there’s plenty of choice. Traditional favourites of crispy haddock and chips, steak and kidney pudding and creamy fish pie as well as more innovative dishes such as goat’s cheese soufflé, crab thermidor and pheasant kiev ensure that there is something to suit everyone.
Sunday lunch is a must – Rare roast beef with proper Yorkshire puddings or roast Berkshire pork are in high demand so booking is advised.
The private dining room is light and airy with stunning views over the surrounding countryside. It is available for parties, weddings, meetings and conferences as long as you are having something to eat, there are no room hire charges.
